In Bloom Birthday

Hello everyone!

Well, it’s been a while! I must apologise for my long absence. Computer problems and other things conspired against me! On the plus side though I have a lot of cards to share with you!

I’m starting today with the first card I made with my In Bloom stamp set. It took me ages before I finally ‘got’ it with In Bloom but finally I saw the light and it made it into my October order! This first card with it is one I was commissioned to do for a birthday:

I just *love* this colour combo, it’s so ruch and yummy!

I started with a Spring Moss base onto which I stamped one of the designs from Polka Dot Basics II using Versamark ink. I then cut a piece of Kraft cardstock using one of the Mega Curved Rectangle Nestabilities and inked the edges and part of the shape with my SU! Soft Suede ink pad.

I added two strips of Plum Pudding cardstock which were stamped with the Floral Fusion set using Raspberry Fizz, Plum Pudding and another colour (sorry, can’t remember which one!).

Now onto that gorgeous In Bloom flower! I stamped it onto Hibiscus Burst cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black and added some shading using Copics. I stamped the leaves onto Spring Moss cardstock and did the same before cutting all out carefully and assembling on the card using Pinflair Glue Gel for depth and stability. I added a few touches of glitter to the flower centre using my clear Stardust Pen.

The sentiment is from Giga Guide Lines and stamped with black Versafine. I added a couple of small flourishes from Fancy Flourishes using SU! Soft Suede as a finishing touch. I also added a piece of Rustic Cream cardstock cut with the Mega Curved Rectagle die to give an area to write on inside the card.

So what do you think? I have lots more to share with you very soon, including another In Bloom card. I just know this set is going to become one of my favourites!
