Fourth of July Abstract Flag Card

Hi everyone, Happy Tuesday!

It’s the fourth of July, which of course means that my friends in the US are celebrating Independence Day! I hope you all have a wonderful time with great good, great friends, and great fireworks! (I’m a sucker for fireworks!).

I thought I’d get in with the celebrations with a card I created the other week. This was created for the latest challenge on the Seven Hills Crafts blog, and it seems I definitely had today’s date in mind when I created it!

Fun right? I hope I’ve captured the spirit of freedom on this card!

I used the Seeing Stars die from Neat & Tangled to impress the stars pattern onto letterpress cardstock, then blended a couple of Distress Inks over it to bring out the detail! I splattered on some water droplets to add interest. Next I stamped some lines from the Concord & 9th Love Always set. I trimmed out just two of the lines, manipulated the strips with my fingers to give them a bit of a ‘wave’ appearance, then adhered them in place with Pinflair Glue Gel.

The Double-Cut Alphabet and Numbers dies were a perfect finishing touch for a bold statement sentiment. I made sure to add some ink splatters in red and blue too, and some festive sequins!

Have a great day celebrating, friends!

  1. Brilliantly designed card, Taheerah–LOVE everything about it! Gotta try blending inks over an impressed die–looks really neat! PS–I was truly shocked & honored that you picked my Gossip Column card as a runner-up–thank you so much!
