Hey everyone!

Happy Monday! I know, I know, Mondays are tough. We all need a little tonic to help us get through the day. Luckily there’s a new challenge in town to help us do that – the Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge!!

This is a challenge which I’ve created myself, yay me! Every Monday I will bring you a photo inspiration challenge, with images that focus on lifting us out of those Monday doldrums and all inspired to create!! I’ll be asking you to play along as well and linking up your creations! At the end of each week I’ll pick a Top 3 who’ll be my Cures For The Monday Blues and receive a special badge to add to your blog!!

Before we get to this week’s challenge I want to thank all of you that submitted entries for the last challenge. They were all truly beautiful entries and you did not make my life easy when choosing the winners!! I really wanted to pick you all!! Here are my Top 3 Cures For The Monday Blues:

Oh sweet sweet sugar rush!! I can feel my sweet tooth being indulged just by looking at this!!

I know that some of you found last week’s inspiration a little daunting, so I hope this one sweetens the deal! *wink* I want to see your creative interpretations on this one – so much you can take from this image!!

I just *had* to use those delectable colours and little sprinkles in the drink. I kept thinking ‘confetti’! Here’s my take:

I am *so* in love with this card! I think it’s my favourite card of this year to date!! Oh, if only you could see this one in person!!

I started with a Pure White card base and stamped the dots from Simon Says Stamp’s Lots of Dots set using Mama Elephant inks in Blush, Bubble Gum, Lollipop and Sunshine, and SU! inks in Tempting Turquoise, Strawberry Slush and Pear Pizzaz. I loved taking my time building up that pattern!

Once all my stamping was done I added a touch of shimmer on some of the dots using my Wink of Stella Clear Glittern Pen, and a ton of sequins, adhering them in place with Glossy Accents, before adhering a piece of vellum spritzed with a mix of water/Perfect Pearls. This is becoming a go-to technique for me!! I stamped the sentiment from WPlus9’s Strictly Sentiments 1 using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then went over it with a fine marker as it wasn’t black enough. I adhered my vellum in place using Pinflair Glue Gel and I was all done! There are sequins all over the panel, some completely underneath the vellum but still visible in person – oh if you could see!!

So now it’s your turn to cure the Monday Blues! Here’s how to participate in the challenge!

  1. Love how you interpret the photo so perfectly !! ur card is awesome, hope to play along coz u bring out some most amazing inspiration photos 🙂

  2. Congratulations for the last challenge winners.
Your sample card for this week is just stunning. I love the mix of stamped dots with sequins, and the vellum to "pacify" things a bit… and the sentiment!

  3. Once again, loving the inspiration and your take on it! I feel honored to have my name up there for last week's challenge!

Do you have VersaFine black ink? It takes a bit longer to dry on vellum, although not as long as a true pigment ink, but it's the richest black I've ever seen.

  4. You are a MASTER (mistress?!? nah, that sounds a little weird) at taking your time building up a pattern, like with your heart card from last week. I have to say, it looks really good on you : ) Love that I can't see it all. Love that the vellum is torn (from a wild and crazy celebration). And laughed at your outlining of the sentiment. I get so nervous when I have to do that! But it can definitely save a project. Awesome card!!

  5. Your card, as the photo, look good enough to eat! Super sweet. Glad you liked my card. Drop me your address and it'll be on its way… mfischmailme at gmail dot com.
