Hey everyone!

This is my third post of the day! Please scroll down to see the Neat & Tangled Release and the latest Runway Inspired Challenge!

I’m back today to welcome to Day 2 of the Newton’s Nook July Release!

We have FOUR *awesome* sets being released this month – and you’re totally invited to come party with us!

This month we’ve got something for everyone, and an extra-special celebration as it’s also coming up to Newton’s Nook Designs’ First Birthday – and it’s the first release for our new Design Team too!! Today’s set is an awesomely fun set that I just can’t get enough of – Beach Party!!

I kept coming back to the ‘Wish You Were Here’ sentiment from one of the other new sets this month! I thought I would come up with a postcard-style design that would go with Beach Party so well:

Wish You Were Here Bear Postcard Card by Taheerah Atchia

What do you think? I love how this turned out!!

Wish You Were Here Bear Postcard Card by Taheerah Atchia

I started by die cutting a shaped card from Rustic White cardstock using the Button Card die then added the stripes with Copic Markers. and stamped Newton using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him with Copics. I drew the lines with a thin marker then stamped the sentiment using a mix of WPlus9 Pigment inks in Cupid’s Bow and Cranberry Crush. The ‘Post Card’ stamp is from PTI’s Postmarks set and was stamped with a mix of PTI inks in Kraft and Soft Stone.

Next came Winston himself! I stamped him onto another piece of cardstock using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured him with Copics. I thought about colouring him all red and sunburnt but I figured I’d give poor Winston a break! I stamped his shorts carefully onto some patterned paper from the Sassafras Sunshine Broadcast collection, being careful with my inking so as not to get the polka dots stamped. I also used some of the flower stamps that were from the bunny image and trimmed them out and adhered to Winston using Pinflair Glue Gel. Doesn’t he look like he’s getting into the holiday spirit?! Bless him. I adhered Winston to my base using Pinflair and I was all done!

All the Newtonians (that’s what I’ve decided to call us, hehe!) are blog hopping today! Please be sure to join us and hop along and comment on each of the team’s creations! Read on because there’s a prize up for grabs!
