Neat And Tangled January 2015 Release – Introducing Paper Cut Flowers & Birthday Tags!!

By Taheerah | 15th January 2015 | 8 Comments

Hey everyone! Welcome back!

So it’s time for the Neat & Tangled January Release! We have *six* awesome sets being released this month!! And some awesome dies too!! AND sequins!! Definitely something for everyone, with some super-versatile sets!!

Today I’m helping to introduce a new set called Paper Cut Flowers, and a new die set called Birthday Tags. The stamp set is based on the popular technique of paper cutting, allowing you to create the look without all that cutting! And the die set contains two awesome tags with the sentiments die cut as part of the tag, as well as a cute little swag too!

For my first card I wanted to create a soft but sophisticated effect:

I love how this turned out!

I started with a panel of vellum and stamped my flowers and leaves and circles using Versafine Onyx Black ink to create a pattern. I then used a tool called Fantastix to sponge on the variety of inks to colour the images – GinaK White pigment ink as my go-to white, and A:Muse inks in Papaya, Burano, Buttercup, Amethyst, Lime and Bermuda for my other colours. I applied Scor-Tape directly over the whole inked/stamped panel then flipped it over and adhered it to a Rustic White card base.

I added another panel of vellum over the top, with the sentiment stamped using Versafine and heat embossed using Filigree Clear embossing powder. I applied thin strips of Scor-Tape to the front to apply some A:Muse glitter then repeated the tape on the reverse to adhere the vellum to my card to complete the look!

My second card features the Birthday Tags die and a bit of a fun collage of elements:

*giddy* I love how this worked out! I don’t usually create cards like this so I’m pretty happy with the attempt!

I die cut the tag twice, once from vellum and again from patterned paper from the Glitz Designs Yours Truly collection. I affixed the letters back in place on the patterned paper layer then stapled the two together using my Tiny Attacher. Some layering of washi tape, glitter tape and ephemera, along with a couple of stamped images from Gifts For You and a splattering of Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold and this one was good to go!
