Runway Inspired Challenge #49 – Céline

Hi everyone! Happy Thursday!

It’s been AGES since I played along with Runway Inspired Challenge. I thought it was time to change that!

Lots to be inspired by, right?! Here’s what I ended up creating:

I wish I could photograph this better so you could see all the awesome detail! It is really hurting me being without one of my lights. 🙁

I was inspired first of all by all the folds/pleats in the skirt, so I translated this to my card by stamping the long lines image from Mama Elephant’s Confetti set onto my Pure White card base using Soft Stone ink, stamped off once.

I then adhered some tissue paper over the entire card front to give it a faux silk look.

A second layer of tissue paper went on to soften still further (though I’m wishing I hadn’t done that now, for the sake of a better photo!). Onto this I stamped a couple of images from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Splat That set using Memento Luxe inks in Tuxedo Black, Morocco and Teal Zeal, and Mama Elephant ink in Sunshine.

I stamped a sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Many Thanks set using Versamark, heat embossed it with WOW! Metallic Platinum embossing powder then adhered with some Pinflair Glue Gel for dimension to finish up!

Another shot trying to capture some detail!

Well, I cannot WAIT to get to tomorrow – my final working Friday of the year!! So many crafty things planned for the upcoming long break. 🙂 In the meantime I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

ETA: thanks to a tip off I am also entering this into this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge which is to feature tissue paper!

  1. What a fun impressionistic card! Love how you created the brush strokes on the tissue paper. Thanks for playing along with us at SImon Says Stamp Monday Challenge.

  2. Love your organic and creative approach to this runway inspiration! The use of tissue paper is superb and it certainly adds great textures to the overall design! I also love that silver embossing that added richness to this artistic look! SO glad that you join the fun with us, Taheerah!
