Bring It On

Hey everyone! Happy Monday!

Today was my first day of holiday and I mostly spent it with a pounding headache. As a result mojo hit late again but I did come up with a card to share!

Bokeh has been one of my favourite trends of 2013. I absolutely love it, so today I set about creating another bokeh card, but this time using mists:

What do you think? I love how this turned out!

I started with a panel of Pure White cardstock. I stamped the circles from Simon Says Stamp’s Lots of Dots set (you *need* this one – it is super-versatile!) using Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mists in Blush and Mustard. I watered them down further down the line to make the stamping paler. I could not be more thrilled with the result – it’s my best bokeh yet I think!!

I splattered a tiny amount of the Blush mist, and with quite a bit of Studio Calico Mister Huey’s in Calico Shine as well, then set about figuring out my next element. I really didn’t want to cover up all that gorgeous bokeh, or lose the light airy feel of the panel, so I opted for die cutting some numbers using the By The Numbers dies, then smothering them with Glossy Accents and coating with Distress Glitter in Rock Candy. I backed each number with a corresponding die cut from Sweet Blush cardstock.

I decided to bring in my own sentiment, which perfectly summed up my mood today! I stamped the sentiment using Mama Elephant’s Midnight Letters set using Mama Elephant ink in Blush. I used a new must-have – a T-Ruler – to help get the alignment right – so easy when you have this tool! I then added a strip of American Crafts POW! Glitter Paper in Silver before adhering my numbers using Pinflair Glue Gel.

I trimmed my panel down slightly then adhered it onto a card front, with a border of the same glitter paper on the edges. In order not to waste this precious commodity, I trimmed the glitter panel into a frame, thus saving most of it for another day!

Well I’ve a lot of crafting on my mind so I’d better hop to it! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Exquisite, Taheerah!

One of these days, please can you show us a bit more of how the Pin flair adhesive works? 😀 I love the dimension you get with it – not sure if you can get it here in the USA, but my sister is coming to visit soon ….so, I do have a way of getting it if "push comes to shove"!
