Rock Chalk Baby Blog Hop!

Hey everyone!

Welcome back for my second blog post of the day! For StampSpotlight just scroll down! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m back with a post for a very special event!!

You see, one of our Gallery Idol 2012 Girls, Erin, is having a baby!! We decided it would be great to get together and throw Erin a Baby Shower – Blog Hop style!!

For those of you who don’t know, ‘Rock Chalk’ is a basketball reference relating to Erin’s favourite team. My GI Girls totally had to fill me in on that one, lol!

Anyway, we all chipped in to get her a little something, and each of us has also created a card or project for you to Hop along with! You should have come to me from Nina’s blog, but if not feel free to start right at the beginning on Aga’s blog here. I’ll also give you the full list at the end of the post. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, for my card I didn’t want to go ‘typical baby’ card as Erin ain’t no typical lady! I decided to incorporate her nursery colours of grey and yellow, mix with some pattern and trend, with a splash of cute, and came up with this:

What do you think? I *love* how this turned out!! I really do hope Erin loves it as much as I do!!

I started with a Rustic White card base and stamped the little characters from Mama Elephant’s Up And Away set using Smokey Shadow ink. I didn’t ink up the tail for one of the animals when I stamped him again so that he looked a little different. ๐Ÿ™‚

I then stamped them all again onto a separate piece of cardstock and overstamped each of them with Background Basics: Houndstooth. I made sure to make them all a little different and used Hero Arts ink in Butter Bar and Mama Elephant ink in Smoke for the patterns. ๐Ÿ™‚ I trimmed each of them out and used a Memento Tuxedo Black marker on the edges to give a finished look.

Back to my base now! I stamped the heart balloon from Mama Elephant’s Limited Edition Party Kit set using those same inks. I stamped the letters from Flashy Letters using Smokey Shadow ink then coated the balloons with Glossy Accents.

Finally, to tie everything together I drew some balloon strings using a Distress Marker in Black Soot, then adhered my little animals to the base using Pinflair Glue Gel for variable dimension.Voilร !

Well we do hope you will hop along to all the participating blogs to see the cards we’ve made for Erin! Your next stop is Tessa’s blog!

Here’s the full line-up:

I would love it if you would leave some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!
