Into The Woods – At Last!

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday!

So as soon as the last Lawn Fawn release came out I nabbed myself the beyond awesome, beyond adorable Into The Woods set! That was at the end of August. And then I waited. And waited. And waited. And waited.

Eventually I got tired of waiting and used the tracking number to find out that my beloved goodies were being held hostage and to ransom (is Customs charges I didn’t know about as they hadn’t notified me!) at my local post depot! Well, I marched myself down there (well, actually I drove) and sorted that right out! Some arguing and bureaucratic hoop-jumping and cash-parting later I walked out with my new goodies – some two weeks later than I should have! Better late than never!!

I couldn’t *wait* to ink up that adorable set – but by now I have seen dozens of amazing cards out there created by very talented crafters and friends, and I really wanted to create something unique and different. You know me! So I finally sat down with my set tonight, and ended up with this:

*swoon* I just love that adorable little fox!! Isn’t he the cutest?!?!

And see – not foxy colours! A silver fox instead! Yeah!!

I started with some Shimmer White cardstock and stamped my fox using Versafine Onyx Black ink, stamped off once first so I could get a grey instead. I added some very light shading with Copics and a touch of extra glitter with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen (thanks to Debby Hughes for the inspiration for *that*!). I trimmed him out and set him aside whilst I worked on the rest of the card.

Onto my Shimmer White card base I repeatedly stamped the snow flurry from Let It Snow using Versamark ink and heat embossed using WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. *Love* the gentle snowfall that evokes!

Next I decided to incorporate a snowy log for the fox to sit on. I stamped and heat embossed that onto another strip of Shimmer White cardstock, first adding some Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter on top of the embossing powder before heating to get a glittery top of the log! I trimmed it out and added some subtle colour with Copics then adhered that and my fox to my base!

A stamped and heat embossed sentiment from the new Winter Gifts set was the penultimate touch – the final touch being that adorable snowflake caught on little foxy’s nose! I stamped and heat embossed a single snowflake from Let It Snow, carefully trimmed it out and adhered it using Pinflair Glue Gel. And then I took a step back and went ‘Awwwwwwww!’. ๐Ÿ™‚

Well I would love to hear what you think of this little card! I absolutely adore it personally! Thanks so much for stopping by today – I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!

  1. It's all your fault!!!!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I already ordered Let it Snow but now I have to order Into the Woods! All because of your darling, adorable card which is one of the softest, prettiest holiday cards I've seen! Thanks so much for sharing your awesome tutorial. xx

  2. All good things come to those who wait…and wait…and wait – it would seem! Well worth the wait on our end, Taheerah! This is beyond adorable ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. This is so sweet! Love the muted tones on this fox image! And I feel your pain for getting the stamp set this late–good thing that you tracked it down! It's all worth it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Eeep! A snowflake! On his nose! Giddy giddy giddy!! ๐Ÿ˜€
I've seen this set popping up everywhere recently, I even debated over getting it myself but it probably wouldn't get a workout good enough to justify the spending ๐Ÿ™‚
    Love your little foxy!!
