Hi everyone! Happy Saturday!
I’m just about in time to play along with the latest Mama Elephant Challenge. Here’s the sketch we had to play with this time:
And as usual, I took it apart and did my own thing, lol:
I was going for a collage/scrappy look with this one. I really love how it turned out!
I started by stamping the triangle border from Today Was using A:Muse Pebble ink. I then overstamped a few of the triangles using part of a stamp from Trifecta using Pistachio and Sage inks. I then added a few triangles using Versamark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder. I added the days of the week stamp from Today Was using I Steel Got It ink.
I then used the reverse side of some of the speech bubbles in the Hello stamp set to stamp the solid speech bubble images before adding one the right side up using a mix of I Steel Got It and Smokey Shadow inks. I built up the remainder of the sentiment using part of a sentiment from stamps from Today Was and So Breezy, stamping with Versamark and heat embossing as before. I added a cute little heart from Midnight Letters using Burano ink and the star trails from Starry Night using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I love how this contributes to the movement in the card!
As for the 3 circles in the original sketch, they became my three Neat & Tangled sequins. Had to get sequins on there somehow, right? *wink*
So, in theory I’m supposed to be having a really crafty weekend, creating for publication deadlines and suchlike, but I’ve just been so meh today. Creating is tough when you’re blue, no? I hope I’ll perk up and be able to create more tonight and tomorrow. In the meantime it would really make my day if you left some love before you head on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

There's my melon! Well it looks like I love it with brown and sage now too!! Do I like this one better than today's post? Hmmm. I dunno. This one is a little more controlled, and the other is a little more happy. I think I'm going "happy" today!

I should totally play along… but I just don't have time =_= I am so tempted to get some silver and gold embossing powder since I've seen so many wonderful things done with them! And those sequins? LOVEEEEEE.

I am quickly falling in love with collage stamping and your card is a big part of the reason why! You nailed it! What I love about this is that any section of the design separated onto its own would make a fabulous card!! I am crazy about the sentiment and how you ever so craftily added the days of the week along the edge…love it!
