‘Miss U – You Make Life Sweeter’ Tee Card

Another day, another card! I received my Little Tee stamps from Gina K this week and have been experimenting with lots of looks for the shirts. I love this set – there are lots of possibilities for how you design the shirts, and then loads of additional stamps to emblazon your shirts with!

For this card I created the shirt look by layering the long sleeved tee with a short sleeved one on top. I started the long sleeved tee by experimenting with my Polka Dot Basics stamps from PTI on PTI Vintage Cream cardstock. I stamped the open polka dots then offset slightly and stamped again. I then filled occasional circles with a smaller, solid polka dot. This was stamped with Berry Sorbet ink.

I then inked up my longer sleeved tee in Raspberry Fizz (edging the body of the tee with True Black just a little by rolling the edge of the pad over the edge of the stamp) and overstamped onto my polka dot background. The shirt would have made a lovely image in its own right (next time I’ll take pictures as I go along so you can see the effect!), but I had other plans!

Onto Stamper’s Select White I stamped the outline tee in black. I then overtsamped the solid short sleeved tee using New Leaf ink. I applied the ink by lightly tapping on the stamp so that I would get a more vintage look and some of the texture of the ink pad surface. I rolled the edge of the stamp on Raspberry Fizz this time.

After this it still wasn’t vintage looking enough for me so I took my SU! jumbo Rough Texture wheel inked with PTI Vintage Cream and repeatedly rolled over the shirt to ‘roughen it up a bit’.

Lastly the tee sentiment. I inked this with Melon Berry (I believe) and lightly tapped True Black on in places to give it a mix of colour. When stamped this gave a nice faded look which tied in with the feel of the tee I was looking for. I layered the short tee on top of the long tee using Pinflair Glue Gel for dimension. Voila – designer tee!

Onto the rest of the card now! I folded a piece of PTI Kraft in half longways. I cut a deckled rectangle from PTI Vintage Cream using my largest of the mega deckle rectangle nestabilities. I used the cream rectangle to judge where to cut my card base to the right dimension so that it would leave a suitable border and trimmed the card base to size.

I then used my rough texture wheel again over the rectangle for a bit of interest then inked the edges with PTI VintageTouch Tea Dye Duo. I stamped one of the sentiments from my trusty Cupcake Collection stamp set using Dark Chocolate with a little black Versafine on top of the stamp before stamping.

I cut three lengths of the PTI Rustic Cream Button twine and knotted together before gluing to the card base using Pinflair Glue Gel. I then glued the rectangle on top using Pinflair again.

Finally for interest I glued 4 of the PTI Rustic Wooden Vintage buttons on the bottom right (making this card acceptable for the ‘A Passion for Papertrey’ Challenge!) and edged the whole base with the darker of the Tea Dye Duo ink cubes.

I think this card is so sweet and it was really fun to put together!
