The Ton Anniversary Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!

I’m really excited to be participating in a very special hop today!!

That’s right! The Ton is turning One today and are having a very special release hop to celebrate!! I was beyond thrilled when Effie asked if I would like to be a special guest, and of course I said yes immediately!! You all know how much I love The Ton and all their incredible and clever designs!!

So you should have made your way here from Mayline’s blog. If not just head back to The Ton’s blog to start from the beginning – or see the end of this post for the complete list of blogs!

I’ve two fun cards today created with stamp sets from the awesome new release!!

My first is a rainbow palette of delight, and a mix of all the stamped patterns from the new Tribal Chic Borders set

I masked a white border then watercoloured my panel with several of the new inks from The Ton: Grand Fuchsia, Red Sangria, Coralline, Beach Blondie, Bright Emerald, Parisian Blue, and Iris Blooms. Aren’t they gorgeous?!

I stamped my patterns using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I was going for an incomplete/imperfect look, so it’s handy that my inkpad is starting to run dry, lol! The stamps stamp beautifully though!

I stamped the sentiment from the Friggin Fabulous set to finish it off.

Onto my next card, which I am totally in love with! It features the awesome new Friend Defined set!

See what I mean? Love!

I started by inking up the beyond-awesome Rose Terrace Cling Background stamp with several of the awesome Ton inks – Soft Garnet, Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Rose Quartz, and Lofty Mint. I just inked up straight onto the stamp using the corners of my inkpads to direct the colour, but you could use an ink dauber if you wanted to be more precise. I spritzed the stamp with water then stamped my panel with it. Gorgeous results. 🙂 The final colours were a little deeper than I wanted for the effect, so I dabbed the Hampton White ink over it to tone the colours down a bit. 🙂

Then came the fun part – making up my friend definition! There are 10 numbers and several different definition sentences to use, so I picked the ones I wanted and the order they would appear, and also the ‘friend’ stamp, and lined them all up on my MISTI.

Once I was happy with my positioning I stamped my panel, and was then able to stamp a second time to get a deeper black with perfect positioning! Love my MISTI! 🙂 In fact, I love this card and the definitions and everything so much that I’ve left all the stamps on my MISTI in position, and plan to mass produce a whole bunch of cards like this to send to crafty friends! 🙂

Other great ‘finds’ (ie things I should have realised a long time ago): my glass desk is essentially a really giant acrylic block, which I can use to adhere 6×6 background stamps to securely to ink up and stamp repeatedly. 🙂

  1. Hi Taheerah ~ Your cards are totally amazing. I love the colorful watercoloring you did on your first card, using the Tribal Chic Borders set. This card is so much fun. Your second card is so beautiful and I really love the way you did the softness of the flowers in the background of this. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful creations with all of us.
