Deck The Halls with Inky Paws Challange!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

I’m here joining in with the culmination of a week-long fun event that’s been happening on the Newton’s Nook blog! All this week we have had the Deck The Halls With Inky Paws Challenge and there have been some truly awesome guests with equally awesome projects! Today the entire Newton’s Nook DT is joining several special guests to blow you away with tons of inspiration!

The challenge was simple – create anything with a holiday theme featuring Newton’s Nook stamps! With the plethora of cute Christmas sets this wasn’t a problem at all!

I fell back to my still-favourite Christmas set – Newton’s Holiday Mischief! Here’s what I created:

Love! I was going for ‘vintage meets modern’ and I think I managed it!

I started by stamping Newton onto Rustic Cream cardstock using a mix of Versafine Onyx Black ink and SU! Soft Suede ink. I then watercoloured with Distress Inks and water mixed with a little Perfect Pearls. I used my Distress Markers for some of the watercolouring too, then added spritzes of Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist in Gold Lame and Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold. I also painted a little with the gold lame to add some extra shimmer to the lights! I edged the panel with WPlus9 ink in Cranberry Crush and Delicata Gold ink.

I rough-cut some patterned papers from the Echo Park Season’s Greetings and My Mind’s Eye Necessities: Wood collections and tied them together with some gold string before adhering to a Rustic White card base which I’d splattered with some watered down Distress Inks and Gold Lame spray. I added some snowflakes punched from the Add A Little Dazzle metal sheets using a Martha Stewart punch, and a sequin and I was all done!

  49. This is probably my favorite image from Newton's Nook!!! I don't know I have so many favorite images with them lol but I love this card it is a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing 🙂
