Altenew Blog Hop

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!

I’m beyond  thrilled and excited to be here today to be a part of Altenew Stamps’ second release Blog Hop!!

Welcome to Altenew’s second Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from my awesomely talented friend Kelly Griglione’s blog. If not please make your way over to the Altenew blog where Tasnim and Jen are kicking off the Hop in style!!

Altenew is a relatively new stamp company that opened its doors in April. In a couple of days they will be releasing their second collection of stamps. All the stamps that you will see here will be available for purchase at 9:00 am EST on Monday July 14th.

I’m sharing a card created with the delightful Ramadan Greetings set – and you might just see a little of Sketchy Cities Abroad here too! *wink* I have longed for some stamp sets that celebrate Islamic events for so long so I was so excited to see this month’s release contains sets to mark both Ramadan and Eid! For those of you who may not know, Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic Calendar and Muslims observe a month of fasting, abstaining from food and drink between sunrise and sunset every day. Following this comes the festival of Eid Al-Fitr to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

Anyway, back to the stamps and card, lol! Here’s what I came up with:

Ramadan Celebration Card by Taheerah Atchia

I could not be more thrilled with how this turned out!!

Ramadan Celebration Card by Taheerah Atchia

I started with an Onyx Shimmer cardstock panel and splattered on Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mists in Gold Lame and Black Velvet, and Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold. Next I stamped the skyline and sentiment from Ramadan Greetings using Versamark ink and heat embossed them witb WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder.

I added some of the stars from Sketchy Cities abroad, stamping and embossing as before. I then added some sequins (including some of the little centres from the sequins that you would normally throw away!), adhering in place with Glossy Accents. All that remained was to adhere my panel to my True Black card base using Pinflair Glue Gel and I was all done!

Prizes

To celebrate their second release, Altenew is giving away five stamp sets of choice to three lucky winners! The winners will be chosen from comments left on the Altenew blog.

And there’s more! I will choose a winner from comments left on this post and the prize will be two stamps sets of your choice.

You have until Monday July 14th 7:59am EST to leave your comments. You may enter up to two comments on each blog:

  1. Beautiful card. I'm excited about the Ramadan sentiment — my Muslim friends will finally get cards that aren't generic. It's about time, frankly. Thanks to Altenew for that!

  2. OH MY GOD Taheera! I WANT this! I have NEVER EVER found the perfect eid/ramadan stamp and have always designed something or other on PS for my cards… I love love love your card! So gonna buy this one!

  3. So Lovely and sparkly! Which is all it takes to get me exited. I don't celebrate either of these holidays but live in Singapore where o many others do. I might need to get these set just so I can celebrate along with them. My friends would be floored I sent them a card to celebrate this sacred time if year! Yay!
