Paper Smooches SPARKS Designer Drafts Challenge – May 2014 – And A Farewell…

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday!!

Today I’m sharing a card for the latest Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge – woo!!

Today’s challenge is a Designer Drafts challenge, which means we’ll be working from a sketch to jump-start that creativity!

Here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge:

For once I was actually pretty faithful to the sketch! Here’s what I came up with:

Isn’t this totally fun?! I love how it turned out!

I started with a Rustic White card base and adhered a piece of patterned paper from the retired Studio Calico Spencer’s Card Kit. I drew some stitching lines on for a fun effect.

I stamped all my images from Cuteasaurus using Versafine Onyx Black ink and trimmed them out. I used Distress Markers to colour in the rock and leaves, and pieced the eye and teeth of the orange dinosaur with Pure White cardstock. I adhered all my elements to my card using Pinflair Glue Gel. I roughly inked the edges of one of the speech bubbles from the Shadows set, stamped my sentiment, trimmed out and adhered and I was all done!

As you can see, there are many things you can do with a sketch, so you really need to check out the rest of our Design Team today to see the amazing eye candy they’ve come up with:

Wanna play along? You really should!! All you need to do is create an entry using *any* Paper Smooches stamps/dies and link it up on the Paper Smooches SPARKS blog and you’re in! The challenge runs until 11:59pm PST on Saturday 31st May so you’ve got a little time to play along!! We can’t wait to see what you create!!

And finally, as I mentioned in my title… a farewell. This is my last post as part of the Paper Smooches SPARKS Design Team. 🙁 I have had an absolute ball being on this team, and can’t believe that the six month term has flown by so quickly. 🙁 I have loved every minute of every challenge, and want to sincerely thank Kim for taking a chance on me and for being so amazing to work for. I also want to thank Savannah for all she’s done too. They are both the best!! I will really miss this DT. I have learned so much and really learned to push my style outside of my usual comfort zone. I’ve played with some *awesome* products, and I have of course made some wonderful friends. I am of course very sad that the term has come to an end, but I am choosing to smile that it happened. 🙂

That’s it from me for today, but I would love it if you would leave some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!
