Hey everyone!

Today is the fourth and final day of the Neat & Tangled February Release! You will go absolutely crazy for the awesomeness we’re bringing you for this month!! Definitely something for everyone, with some super-versatile sets!! I really hope you’ve loved everything we’ve shown you so far!! Everything from this release is now on sale in the Neat & Tangled store!!

Today I’m helping to round out the release by helping introduce a super-versatile little background set called Diamonds!! With a mix of solid and outline diamond shapes it really adds such a great detail to any project!!

I wanted to revisit a favourite colour palette of mine – white, black and gold, and I guess I had a bit of the recent CASE Study Challenge in my mind which a few weeks ago featured a stunning example from Danielle Flanders. The challenge may be over but I still love this colour combo and wanted to use it! Here’s what I came up with:

I think this and yesterday’s cards are my favourites from this release!! What do you think?!

I started by stamping the diamonds onto my Pure White card base using Versamark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Clear Braille embossing powder. This is like those embossing powder you use to create a more pronounced raise. It’s the first time I’ve tried it and whilst I was happy with the colour I can’t say it sticks all that great and I found parts of my image to not emboss. Ah well, you live you learn! Anyway, to add to the effect I scattered on some Stickles Rock Candy Dry Glitter before embossing to give some sugar coating to those diamonds!.

I stamped the diamonds again onto a separate piece of cardstock and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Rich Gold Pale embossing powder, then trimmed some of the diamonds out and adhered to my card base using Pinflair Glue Gel. I also flipped some of them over to adhere the pure white diamonds instead! I adhered some black sequins as well then set about the rest of my card!

I stamped and heat embossed the speech bubble from A Lot To Say onto vellum using Versamark ink and heat embossed with the gold embossing powder as before. I trimmed it out and adhered in place using Pinflair Glue Gel for some dimension. Next I broke out Everyday Labels and stamped the sentiment and heart using Versafine Onyx Black ink and trimmed out and adhered in place.

Finally, I stamped the diamond from Sparkle And Shine, stamped it Versamark ink  and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder. Before embossing I completely coated with Martha Stewart Vintage Gold Glitter to create a super-sparkly glittered embellishment!! I really love the finished look and will definitely be repeating this!! I adhered my diamond and added some Gold Metallic String and I was all done!

I do strongly encourage you to visit the Neat & Tangled Blog to see what the rest of the DT has created and to hop along and leave them some love!

Thanks so much for stopping by – I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!

  1. Love, love, love your choice to make a vellum speech bubble!! I don't think I've seen that before. It's delicious. And, given the large size, it still allows you to get a feel for your background which otherwise would be hidden. Great design choice, Taheerah!!

  2. A very elegant card. White, gold and black are beautiful together. I like the gold string too. I like today and yesterday's card but the Sunburst one was very nice too. Super job!

  3. This is awesome! I love everything about this card; the slanted speech bubble, the loose elements on it, and of course, gold and black!! The background is awesome too! Beautifully done Taheerah!
