You Are My Anchor

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday!

I’m bringing you another one of the cards I created based on an old Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge. Here’s the inspiration photo:

And here’s what I did with it!

What do you think? I love how this turned out!

I started with a Stamper’s Select White card base and coloured it by dragging my SU! Pumpkin Pie inkpad all over it. I then stamped the Nautical Knots stamp on it using Versamark ink and heat embossed using WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder.

I added some strips of cardstock across the front to mimic the pillow/duvet. I believe I inked up the pale blue panels with A:Muse ink in Bermuda but I have to double-check that. 🙂 Next I trimmed out another one of my anchor shapes (I really have to turn this into a die!) and inked it up lightly with Mama Elephant ink in Smoke then over a little with Hero Arts ink in Silver.

I adhered the anchor in place using Pinflair Glue Gel then slid on a vellum band that I heat embossed with a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps’ Ocean Bound set, stamping it in Versamark and heat embossing with WOW! Metallic Platinum embossing powder. I love how the colour of embossing powder evokes the metal studs on the side of the headboard in the inspiration photo. 🙂

Well, I only have one more of these types of cards left to share, I think, so I guess I’m going to have to create some new stuff soon! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. Beautifully done, Taheerah! The inking is so even I initially thought it was a colored card stock! Love the vellum strip and how you covered the anchor and some details, makes it look so interesting! Great idea too for when there seems to be no place for a sentiment 🙂
