StampSpotlight June 2013 – Day 1!

Hi everyone, and welcome, welcome, welcome to this month’s inaugural StampSpotlight post!!

I am so super-excited to be bringing you the next installment of this monthly feature on my blog! Last month’s StampSpotlight was such a blast and as soon as it was over I was already looking forward to the next one!!

In case you missed yesterday’s post with all the info, here are some specifics:

The Details

  • StampSpotlight is a monthly feature that runs on my blog at the beginning of each month.
  • The Spotlight will run from the first Tuesday of each month and last for 3 days. That’s 3 days of inspiration!
  • Each post will go live at 7am EST/Midday GMT.
  • I will be sharing new projects I’ve created each month that featured my spotlighted set.
  • Each Spotlight will focus on a favourite set of mine. My aim is to showcase a set from a different manufacturer each month, but it totally depends on which particular stamp I’m wanting to showcase – I won’t be tied down to any one manufacturer and I am not receiving anything from the manufacturers that I do spotlight – it’s all out of love!
  • I have asked the manufacturers if they will help spread the word about StampSpotlight when they are featured but this does not affiliate me with the manufacturers in any way. Just wanting them to help spread the word!
  • If any manufacturers decide to sponsor the giveaway of the free set then I will explicitly state this.
  • Each set I will showcase is one I genuinely adore from top to bottom, inside and out – and I want to show you just why I love them!
And that’s not all! Along the way with all the fun, there’s a chance to win a prize!
The Prizes

  • I will be giving away one copy of my spotlighted set the month it is featured! I love these sets so much that I want one of you to get a chance to own one and love it too!
  • I will draw one winner after the Spotlight ends
  • The winner will be announced the day after the Spotlight ends

This month’s StampSpotlight is…

*drumroll*

 Lil’ Inker Designs’ Notebook Doodle!!

How do I love thee – let me count the ways?! Now, I know the first thing you might be thinking is that I’m on the Lil’ Inker Designs DT so I’m being biased here – but I can assure you I’m not!! That is not what StampSpotlight is about!!

Before I joined the DT I had already fallen completely in love with this set!! It’s just so *different* and unique, and fun!! It also embraces several of the trends we didn’t even know we had at the time, such as sketchy, freestyle drawing, has some funky sentiments, and is just all-round awesome!! From the very simple and elegant to blow-your-mind elaborate – this set can do it all!!!

Now that all the introductions are out of the way, let’s get on with the projects for Day 1, shall we? 🙂

I am so squealingly happy with how this card turned out!! It reminds me of a sketchbook front cover, or maybe even an artist’s portfolio?!

The first card features a Stamper’s Select White card base. I stamped this card using only 4 main stamps from the set!!

Building up a design like this is super-easy! I just try out some ideas on a piece of scratch paper first before executing onto cardstock!

After stamping my design with Versafine Onyx Black ink, I only chose to add a simple sentiment from Friendship Jar: Spring Fillers. I was still going with a tattoo sleeve-style idea in my head, and this went perfectly with that!

  5. Taheerah, this is breathtakingly gorgeous! You know, at first I didn't notice the stamp set, and when I saw the card, I thought you had used one big stamp. Then as I went back to checkout the stamp set…wow! you made that background pattern with those small designs!! Quite impressive! It is so well done I didn't even notice the overlaps at first glance. But it looks all good, the dark and the light parts 🙂

    I love this set… fell in love with it on the sneaks but couldn't find it anywhere in the UK 🙁 …so would love to win it!!lol

    Love your card too- it just looks so good all in black and white… makes me want to doodle!! 🙂

  25. This is a Great set. I love it!! Doodling is so much fun but sometimes you either cant do it or have your days. This set is perfect for that. Well and it is just perfect anyway. Thank for sharing it with us. I really want this set now. HUGS
