Ikat Friend

Hey everyone! Happy weekend!! I hope you’re finding some time to get crafty!

So today I thought I’d play with some of my new PTI order. I was really excited to get the Irresistibly Ikat set – all the while worrying I wouldn’t know what to do with it when it arrived!

Well, after this morning’s play, I’ll let you be the judge of whether that fear was unfounded:

What do you think? I actually really kinda love this card!

I started with a Rustic White card base and stamped some of the Ikat (medallions? diamonds? motifs? what the heck are these things?!) using A:Muse Burano ink and Versafine Onyx Black ink.

I stamped a couple of the (insert name here) in Versamark ink and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale Super Fine embossing powder, using a Versamarker pen to fill in the centre so I could get a solid image.

The gold sentiment strip was created in the same way as I’ve done on some of my recent posts – Sterling Silver cardstock, Versamarked, heat embossed with gold embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink topped with Versamark ink, and heat embossed with Filigree Clear embossing powder. This gave a really interesting finish – I got the colour of the sentiment, but the clear finish makes it look almost as if it was laminated or something – very cool! I’m enjoying these embossing experiments!!

Right, lots to be getting on with today, but I will endeavour to post a little tiny StampSpotlight sneak of info later today. In the meantime I’d love it if you left some love on this post – that’s if you love it, of course! Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!!

  1. Ahhh, it's random, cool! And very well-balanced. Love your filled in gold shapes. And like the other card, that combo of black/blush/gold is so on trend. A fun, modern, ikat … love it!!

  2. Are you getting commission for telling us the good stuff? (LOL) Because I love the crafting goodies that have been showcased here! LOVE the metallic look! Gorgeous card indeed!
