Heart Doily Smitten

Hi everyone! Happy Good Friday!

I’m sharing a beautiful one layer card today that I really love!

Stunning right? I love it when an idea works out!

I started with a Vintage Cream card base and impressed the Heart Doily die into it. I got this idea after seeing the amazing Elena do so on this stunning card. My twist? I pressed my Versamark pad into my die before impressing, so I could then heat emboss the design using WOW! Metallic Rich Gold Pale embossing powder! I wanted a slightly messy look to the design, so I was happy to let a few stray specks stay on the design!

After that I just added the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Smitten set and I was all done!

Well, I guess I better crack on here! I have *so* much to do today and am feeling a bit overwhelmed by it all.:-( Wish me luck! I would love it if you left some love and encouragement before you head on your way! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Oh this is delicious. Fantastic idea to ink the die with VersaMark first! I've done ink before for the letterpress look, but never thought of VersaMark for embossing. Love it!!

  2. Oooh! This is utterly gorgeous! Quite cool that you used a doily die to emboss! I thought it was a stamp at first. Love the elegance with a twist of little shabbiness. And, congratulations on your card getting published! You must be excited!

  3. Wow, whoever gets this card will be SMITTEN!! Love the gold embossing, Taheerah! And CONGRATS on having your Halloween card published in Sept 2013! See? You didn't need to be disappointed after all! HUGS!
