Clean & Simple Card Making 2 – Day 5 – One Stamp, Three Ways

Hi everyone! How’s your Saturday?

NB: this is my second post of the day. For the second day of my 14 Days of Valentine’s Cards post click here or scroll down. 🙂

I’m back today to feature my homework for Day 5 of the Clean & Simple Card Making 2 class:

Day 5’s homework was to stretch our stamps and use one stamp in three ways. We were meant to sketch out three ideas then make a card from one of them, but of course I had to be a Teacher’s Pet and make all three. *wink*

I chose the Woodgrain set from Waltzingmouse Stamps to play with, specifically the large woodgrain background:

If you’ve been to my blog before you know how much I {heart} this set!!

Anyway, here’s what I ended up with:

Fun huh?! I wasn’t imaginative enough for my liking, but I still think the end result is decent!

All of these cards feature heat embossing and also a guest appearance from the Mama Elephant Smitten set! Let’s talk it through a card at a time, shall we?

So for the first card (I’m working right to left, just to be awkward!) I stamped the background onto Clear & Simple Stamps’ Brown Leather Satchel cardstock using Versamark ink.

I then heat embossed it with WOW! Opaque Vanilla White embossing powder.

I trimmed the panel down and adhered to a Brown Leather Satchel card base using Pinflair Glue Gel. I then stamped the flag image onto Vintage Cream cardstock using SU! Soft Suede ink, trimmed out and adhered to the panel using Pinflair.

For card number two I stamped the image onto Vintage Cream cardstock using Brown Leather Satchel ink and heat embossed with WOW! Clear Semi Dull embossing powder.

I then punched out some circles from it and affixed them to my Rustic Cream card base using my Tiny Attacher.

The sentiment flag was stamped with Brown Leather Satchel ink.

For the final card I actually took some leftover strips from the panel made for the first card. I trimmed down the strips to different widths and adhered to my base with Scor-Tape.

The sentiment flag was stamped onto Brown Leather Satchel cardstock and heat embossed with Opaque Vanilla White embossing powder again.

Well, that’s it for me today! I still have a crafting project list as long as my two arms put together, so I better get cracking! See you all back here tomorrow – thanks so much for stopping by!
