BFF

Hey everyone! How are you all today?

Are you all loving the new blog design? The only one needed a severe revamp – felt far too stuffy and suffocated and out of touch. The one feels like a breath of fresh air to me and it feels like the perfect way to kick of a new crafting year!

I’m back today with a card I submitted to a Paper Crafts call a while back. Sadly it didn’t get picked up, but on the bright side that means I can share it with you!

What do you think? I {heart} this so much!!

I started by die-cutting the tag from coaster board using the Tag Sale #3 die, then again from some bookprint, and adhered the two together. I stamped the bookprint with Mehndhi Medallion using True Black ink, and Fancy Flourishes using Raspberry Fizz ink. Next I sprayed the tag with spray adhesive and coated with Martha Stewart Crystal Fine glitter.

A few more touches on the tag itself. First I laid a strip of Scor-Tape along the button and pressed in some glass glitter, staining the strip with VintageTouch Chamomile reinker. Then I cut a think strip of pink paper to make a pinked accent and glued that on. I also added two colours of pom-pom trim to the back of the tag with Scor-Tape. Phew!

I used a Lemon Tart card base and adhered a piece of striped paper, distressed with Palette New Canvas ink. This was actually an old paper bag that someone had sent me a gift in – it was too pretty not to use!

Finally, I adhered the tag to the base using Pinflair Glue Gel and adhered the American Crafts Thickers to spell BFF and add the quote marks. I then die cut the butterfly from bookprint using the Love Lives Here dies. I stamped the butterfly with the Love Lives Here set using Aqua Mist ink, then sprayed a piece of cardstock with spray adhesive and adhered the bookprint butterfly to it. I trimmed out the butterfly with scissors and coated any remaining sticky areas with some Martha Stewart glitter. I then adhered the butterfly to the tag using Pinflair, adding a few pins to give him his antennae.

Phew! That’s a lot of steps for one card! But I hope you’ll agree it was worth it!

I do hope you’ll join me on the blog tomorrow – I have a very special post coming up!! Until then, thanks so much for stopping by, I really appreciate all of you!
