Happy Birthday George!!

Hey everyone, happy Monday!!

I know I’ve been quiet again when I said I’d not. Hopefully I can actually get into the swing of posting again – I have a ton of cool stuff to show you!

I’m back today with a fun birthday card I made for a dear friend of mine. It’s his birthday today – Happy Birthday George!! Hope you’re having a good one!

I wanted to create something bold and bright and modern. Here’s what I ended up with:

What do you think? I love it when a plan comes together and this was exactly what I envisaged in my head!

I started with cutting some squares from Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, New Leaf, Harvest Gold, Plum Pudding and Raspberry Fizz cardstock.

I then used my QuicKutz Spotlight Grand Alpha dies to die-cut the large letters and number from the Berry Sorbet, Hawaiian Shores, new Leaf and Harvest Gold squares. The letters have holes in them (to look like a movies font) so I opted to use the negative space left on the squares instead to give a colour-block look.

For the Plum Pudding square I die-cut the letters from some left over photo paper using the Modern Alphabet dies. Love this font! I adhered the letters to the square using a light amount of Pinflair so that they just sit off the base of the square.

For the final square I stamped the camera image using a mix of Versafine Onyx Black ink and Versamark ink before heat setting with some WOW! Clear Semi Dull embossing powder. The stamp is from a mini set by Beary Sweet Stamps – so cute!!

I adhered each square in place with Pinflair Glue Gel to a Stamper’s Select White cardstock base. This gives them a nice bit of dimension popping off the base, allowing you to see that negative space of the big letters in all their glory!

I’d love to know what you think of this bright modern card. Thanks so much for stopping by – hope to see you again soon!!
