Hey everyone!

Welcome back!! I’m so excited to bring you today’s post!

This week there’s a very special feature happening over at the Winnie & Walter blog as the dies from the January Release are given a showcase all their own!! And I am more than thrilled and delighted that Julie & Shay invited me back to participate!

The January Release was CHOCK FULL of *amazing* dies!! Wait ’til you see what everyone’s done with them!

Today I’m helping to showcase The Big, the Bold and Party Cutaways Essentials: Katharine Cutaways – an *amazing* compilation of versatile and useful dies, and In A Word: Happy Cutaway – one of three different bold words in a fun font!

Here’s what I came up with:

So completely in love with this!!

I started with a panel of Pure White cardstock and, don’t be traumatised now, peeled away the top layer of it to leave a roughened texture. I then dampened my panel with a little water and painted it with Distress Paints in Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Tarnished Brass, Black Soot and Picket Fence. I painted some of it wet, some damp and some dry brushing, sometimes adding a little water to help the colours blend a bit more. I smeared on a little glue and applied some Martha Stewart glitter, and stamped the chevrons from Scenery: V For CheVron using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I was heavily inspired by the uber-amazing Ashley Goldberg – I love her work so so much!!

Once dry I adhered the panel to a card base and then added a vellum frame with I’d die cut using the Essentials: Katharine Cutaways. The two rectangles are wired together perfectly to use as a frame if you don’t separate them! I used the series of circles/dotted line die to cut the circles in, then adhered the frame with Multi Matte Medium

I die cut the ‘happy’ from True Black cardstock using the In A Word: Happy Cutaway and adhered it the same way. Finally, I partially inked up one of the sentiments from Happy
Christmas
and stamped that to compete the card!!

There’s a ton of inspiration on show on the Winnie & Walter blog, you really must check out their post here to see more!!

Thanks so much for stopping by – I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!

  1. And there you have it!!!! AWESOME! I thought you did the background yourself, but it is SO well done, I thought– could it be patterned paper?? And you nailed the feeling of Ashely Goldberg completely– down to the little black flecks. I will second my initial shout–AWESOME!! xo
