Hey everyone!

Happy Monday! I know, I know, Mondays are tough. We all need a little tonic to help us get through the day. Luckily there’s a new challenge in town to help us do just that – the Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge!!

This is a challenge which I’ve created myself, yay me! Every Monday I will bring you a photo inspiration challenge, with images that focus on lifting us out of those Monday doldrums and all inspired to create!! I’ll be asking you to play along as well and linking up your creations! At the end of each week I’ll pick a Top 3 who’ll be my Cures For The Monday Blues and receive a special badge to add to your blog!!

This challenge is in its fifteenth week now – close to 4 months old!! Wow! Thank you to everyone who has given it love and support and helped it to grow!

In case you missed this previous post, please read on for some of the recent changes made to the Challenge – including info on how to be in with a chance of becoming a Guest Designer!

Right then. Back to business, lol!

Before we get to this week’s challenge I want to once again thank all of you that submitted entries for the last challenge. I am always especially happy to see some new faces to the Challenge, as well as ‘regulars’! They were all truly beautiful entries and you did not make my life easy when choosing the winners!! I really wanted to pick you all!! Here are my Top 3 Cures For The Monday Blues:

Winners please contact me to be sent your challenge winner’s badges!

Yet again I had some absolute stunners for entries. I was especially impressed by the variety of creations this week – so many of you pulled out different elements from the inspiration and I love that!! Keep it up!! You really have no idea how tough it is picking out only a Top 3! All of you have really been putting in some amazing designs and it makes me so happy when you play, so please keep playing along!

So are you excited to get this week’s challenge under way?! Let’s see what’s up for this week’s inspiration:

After last week’s neutrals I’m back to what I love best – lots of pops of bright colour! So much more than meets the eye for this inspiration – different shapes, elements, colours, and of course gold gold gold!!

Here’s my take on the inspiration:

I really love how this turned out!! I chose the diagonal lines on the tablecloth for my interpretation, and some of those bright flowers too!

I started with a Pure White card base and adhered strips of Coral Necklace, Mimosa, Creamsicle Cardigan and Hawaiian Shores cardstock using Scor-Tape. The gilded strips were normal strips of cardstock overlaid with Gold Metallic Tape! I got mine from the Papertrey Make It Market Luxe Letterpress Kit but I’ve linked to some standalone tape in my supplies so you don’t have to spend $85. *wink*

Next – the details! I took this opportunity to break out my NEW! Altenew Stamps!! This company features the twin brains and talents of my two amazing friends, Jen Rzasa and Tasnim Ahmed so I couldn’t wait to showcase some of their maiden release!! I opted for a sentiment from the super-trendy Super Script set, stamping it with a mix of Versafine Onyx Black ink and Versamark ink. I heat embossed it once with Filigree Black embossing powder, then very carefully trimmed out the word. Dudes, this is a super-tricky sentiment to trim out exactly, so I deserve much cake applause for my efforts!! I pressed the word back into my Versamark ink and heat embossed again, and again, and again. The result is a wonderful epoxy sticker-like finish, which I then adhered to my card using Glossy Accents.

Finally, I used the Painted Flowers set to stamp out my blooms, using WPlus9 ink in Sweet Gelato for the pinks (the main layer stamped off once) and Versafine for the fine detail. I love these flowers so so much!! I trimmed out my blooms and adhered with Pinflair Glue Gel and I was all done!

So now it’s your turn to cure the Monday Blues! Here’s how to participate in the challenge!
