Runway Inspired Challenge #28 – Carolina Herrera

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!

I’m back today featuring my entry for the latest Runway Inspired Challenge. Here is our latest inspiration piece:

Isn’t that dress simply gorgeous?!!

I was really inspired by the floaty nature of the fabric, the movement and all those coloured spots! So I came up with this idea during the week and finally had a chance to execute it today:

What do you think? I am kinda in love with this, ha!

I started with a Stamper’s Select White cardstock panel and die cut several circles from it. I used the Limitless Layers 1 3/4″, Limitless Layers 2 1/2″, Trendy Tree Tops and Table Service dies to give a mix of sizes.

Next I sprayed the front of the panel with spray adhesive and adhered a panel of vellum to it to give that soft, floaty look!

On the reverse of the panel I went around the edges of the circles with Pinflair Glue Gel a couple of times, to build up a ‘wall’ of adhesive, then left it to dry.

In the meantime I got on with making my shaker card filler!

I used several hole punches, including the Crop-O-Dile and SU! 1/2″ circle punch, to punch out *lots* of circles! I used Scarlet Jewel, Enchanted Evening, Dark Chocolate, Spring Rain, Vellum, Clear and Simple Stamps’ Glamazon Green & Orange You Fabulous cardstocks and punch punch punched!

The Spring Rain cardstock was a little paler than I wanted so I inked the cardstock with A:Muse Blueberry ink first.

Once the Pinflair was dry, I filled each compartment with a mix of all the different sizes and colours of circle punch outs and threw in a little Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter for good measure!

I then added some more Pinflair Glue Gel to all the edges of the panel, and over the edges of the circles again, and adhered to a Stamper’s Select White card base.

Now, because of the vellum, you can’t see all of those circles all too well! So I decided to embellish the vellum panel with some more circles! I used Polka Dot Basics I and Scarlet Jewel, Enchanted Evening, New Leaf, Orange Zest, SU! Soft Suede and A:Muse Ocean inks to add a multitude of colourful dots!

As a final finishing touch, I thought about the sentiment. I still wanted to keep the design floaty and circular, so I finally settled on the Mama Elephant On Target set and stamped the ‘Love’ circle several times onto vellum with the same inks as mentioned above.

I carefully cut out each circle and adhered to the base with Pinflair Glue Gel at differing heights.

Finally I stamped the ‘You’ circle from Simply You, using SU! Soft Suede ink onto some Stamper’s Select White cardstock, punched out, and adhered with Pinflair. The sentiment when considered all together is ‘Love Love Love Love Love You’. 🙂

I took a couple of shots of the card lying down so you can hopefully get a glimpse of all those circles inside! It really does look awesome in real life, honest!!

I would love to know what you think of this card! I certainly put a lot of thought, preparation and effort into it so I hope you like it!!

Well that’s it from me for today. I plan to spend a lot more time getting crafty this weekend and I have a few things up my sleeve that I’m hoping to complete! Thanks so much for stopping by – I hope you’re having a great Saturday!
