Joyful Trees

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday! Happy December! My word, how did that happen?!

Today the brand new Paper Smooches SPARKS Design Team are kicking off our term, yippee!! My half of the team don’t post until next Sunday, but in the meantime you can check out the first challenge here! It’s an ‘Anything Goes’ challenge this week so please do play along!!

So although I’m not ‘up’ this weekend, I thought I’d get into the spirit of things by creating a card featuring my most recent Paper Smooches arrival – Warm Hearts:

What do you think? I love how this turned out!

I didn’t want to use a traditional holiday colour scheme for this and I love how fresh it turned out! I started by stamping each of the trees onto different pieces of patterned paper from the Studio Calico Atlantic patterned paper collection using Versafne Onyx Black ink. I trimmed them out and went over the edges with a Memento Tuxedo Black marker. I also stamped the trees directly onto my Rustic White card base to aid with placement.

I adhered the trees using Pinflair Glue Gel, with lots of variable dimension – love! I also added the cardinal and sentiment from the set, and paper pieced the hearts in the sentiment and the tree with some more patterned paper.

To finish off, I masked the card and splattered some Glimmer Mist in Electric Blue onto the base. I love how it ended up looking like snow!

That’s it from me for today, but I really can’t wait to show you my card for tomorrow!! I absolutely love it *so* much but I made myself keep it back an extra day! Do you ever do that?!

Thanks so much for stopping by – I would love it if you would leave some love before you went on your way!
