Runway Inspired Challenge #55 – Pamella Roland

By Taheerah | 4th March 2014 | 18 Comments

Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday!

It’s time for another Runway Inspired Challenge! I am so loving creating for these!!

Here’s the *gorgeous* inspiration image for this challenge:

*Swoon*!! Now that is my kind of dress! Sleek, sophisticated and sexy! I would totally wear that!!

I was most inspired by the shimmer created by all those sequins. From top to bottom they look like they have a graduation of colour, which led me to this:

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out!!

I started with a True Black card base. I took the smallest dot from the Simon Says Stamp Lots of Dots set and stamped it repeatedly with Versamark ink, before heat embossing with a trio of WOW! Metallic Rich Gold, Metallic Platinum and Metallic Silver embossing powders. That’s right – every single dot you see was individually stamped. It was either that or use loads of little sequins up. And that would have just been silly.

I left a space to stamp the sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Love From Above set and heat embossed that with WOW! Metallic Gold Sparkle embossing powder.

The black of the card base was not dark enough for me at this point, so I dragged my Versafine Onyx Black inkpad over it repeatedly and then to finish off coated the whole thing with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter brush pen. And that was me all done!

So anyway, now I’m all done squealing and monkey clapping with excitement and all the rest of it, you definitely want to check out what the rest of the DT have come up with!!

  1. Before I even thought about reading your post and took one look at the bottom of your card, I thought to myself, "hmm, I bet Taheerah found the tiniest dot stamp she could and repeated it a billion times." Looks like I'm the smart one in the room : ) Really amazing!! Love, love, love!

  2. All those dots, individually embossed? I am sooo impressed! Your card is as sleek and sophisticated as the dress. Gorgeous!

  3. You are so, so clever!. I wondered what you used to make all those dots. Patience really is a virtue ;)I love the slender card base. and the multicolor embossing powders. Great card ! 🙂

  4. Each and every one of your cards is an absolute masterpiece, and this is no different Taheerah! Can't believe you stamped all those dots, but it looks like it was definitely worth the effort!
