25 Days of Christmas Tags Guest Designer!

By Taheerah | 9th November 2014 | 52 Comments

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday!

I’m back today with a very special post!

You may know that the super-awesome and talented Tracey McNeely hosts a 25 Days of Christmas Tags feature on her blog every year. Chock full of inspiration, guests and prizes (more on that later!), it’s something you should definitely check out!

This year I was thrilled and honoured when Tracey asked if I would be one of her Guest Designers, and I gleefully and immediately accepted! I love Christmas, I love tags, how could I resist?!

With the choice of product etc left completely to me, I only had to create a tag in any fashion I wished.

You guys ought to know by now though how I don’t do anything by halves:

*squeal* Can I just stop and say how much I love love *love* these?! What do you guys think? I was going for ‘magazine spread’, how did I do?

There are 11 tags here in total (I just could not stop!) but they all used a handful of basic supplies, which means that they didn’t take too long to put together either! Wouldn’t gifts just look amazing dressed up with these tags?

I’ll give you a few close-ups:

I used the Tag Sale #7 die to cut all the standard sized tags from Kraft cardstock, Shimmer Cream cardstock and Shimmer Gold cardstock. I used the Holly Berries set from Clearly Besotted to stamp the images and sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink, and added some Martha Stewart Smoky Quartz glitter and a splattering of Mister Huey’s White mist as well (doesn’t show too well in the photos but the cream tags have it too).

A couple of the tags were different. 🙂

I used the WPlus9 Under The Mistletoe dies to die cut the sprig and mistletoe, coating the whole of the mistletoe with the glitter and accenting the sprig. Those were adhered with Pinflair Glue Gel and I added a sentiment from PTI’s ‘Tis The Season Sentiments stamp set. I made all the tag reinforcers by punching a hole in cardstock then punching out the ring using a 1/2″ circle punch. The black twine is from Hemptique and the metallic gold string is my favourite from May Arts.

For the smaller tags I used the Tremendous Tags dies to die cut the tags, one from Shimmer Cream and one from True Black cardstock. The cream one features a pattern from the Texture Tiles: Be Cool stamp set from Avery Elle, with some glitter accenting, and the black one uses the Falling Snow stencil with white embossing paste which was then sprinkled with glitter.

The shaped tags (word and bell) were die cut from Shimmer Silver cardstock, and completely coated with glitter. The Merry Bright tag was die cut using the sadly discontinued Merry Bright die, and in fact was die cut three times and adhered together for some strength (all those holes weaken the structure don’t you know? *wink*).  The bell was die cut using the larger of the two dies from the Lil’ Inker Designs Jingle Bell die set.

I’m really proud of this collection of tags, I do hope you like them too!

So, I mentioned something about prizes! Read on!

Along with the daily inspiration from Tracey and all her guests, she is also offering prizes from the following amazing companies:
