Brilliant Winston

Hey everyone! Happy Wednesday!

I’m up on the Newton’s Nook blog today with an super-awesome card! I know whenever I create Winston cards that he tends to be hapless and a bit of a comical figure. But today, it’s Winston’s time to shine! I couldn’t wait to pull out Winston’s Birthday and get started!

Here’s what I came up with:

I am so in love with how this turned out! I love how Winston looks like he’s had a bright idea!!

I started with a Rustic White card base. and stamped the lightbulb from Around The House using Studio Calico Colour Theory ink in Sunny Day. I then watercoloured over it and gave it a glow with Distress Markers in Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed with water mixed with Perfect Pearls. I stamped the lightbulb again using Versafine Onyx Black ink, coloured with the same markers (neat, not watercoloured) then went over it with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I adhered the bulb in place using Pinflair Glue Gel.

Next I stamped Winston using Versafine. I was originally going to just use this as positioning to adhere a cork Winston to the card, but I decided I loved the graphic look so much that I left him plain!! A partially stamped sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Lights Out set was all that was needed to finish it up!!

Please do leave a comment on the Newton’s Nook blog – and while you’re there take a look at the latest Inky Paws Challenge too!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!
