Thoroughly Modern Wedding Cake

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday!

More new stamps today – this time from Reverse Confetti!! I was totally sparked by the sentiments in the Celebrate Cake set and decided to create something a bit different with them:
What do you think? I love this so much!! And it might look very minimalistic and simple but a lot of work went into it!!
I started by trimming some panels of Vintage Cream cardstock and rounding the top corners. I then stamped the bottom edges with one of the stripes from Background Basics: Super Stripes and the rest of the shapes with Polka Dot Basics II, both using Versamark ink. I heat embossed this detail with WOW! Opaque Bright White embossing powder. Doesn’t white on cream look *great*?!!
Not content with just that, I then stamped each layer with the sentiments from Celebrate Cake using Versamark and heat embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold Pale embossing powder. *Love* the end result!!
I created a Stamper’s Select White card base and stamped the candles and cake stand from Make A Wish using Versamark and embossed with WOW! Metallic Gold embossing powder.
With all the detail in place the only thing left was to curl my cake layers slightly for some dimension (thanks to Elena for the amazing inspiration for that!) and then adhere them to my base using Pinflair Glue Gel – and voila, I was done!
Well, I’m hoping my friend Aimes doesn’t see this card so I have a chance to send it to her for her nuptials – but I think chances are she will as her wedding is still ages away and I’m pretty sure she’ll stop by here before then, lol! Guess I’ll have to go back to the drawing board huh Aimes? Pity as I bet you’d love this one! ;D
Well, as usual my bed is calling! I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. D'oh! I've seen it! LOL!
Save this beauty for me! I was smiling from ear to ear as soon as I saw it (and that was before reading the post!) You know exactly what I like in a card and I'm pretty sure this card would be worth the wait for my wedding day ;D
    Hugs!
