Hey everyone! How are you all today? 🙂
I haven’t played along with the Papertrey Ink Blog Hop for quite a while – but I knew I had to get inky with this one!!
Gold! Gold!! You know how much I love gold!!
Gold was one of the easiest trends for me to get on board with. In fact I feel like I’ve been *waiting* for this trend to come, y’know? It was made for me!
For my creation today I wanted to mix a modern design with different shades of gold, all in a sort of notecard-meets-opulence kind of look:
*swoon*!!! I just love love *love* how this turned out!!! Oh if only you could see it in real life – or if only I could capture its beauty better! It is simply *stunning*!!!
I started with a panel of Vintage Cream cardstock and stamped the chevron from Irresistibly Ikat using Tim Holtz’s Tarnished Brass Distress Paint. I allowed this to dry thoroughly then stamped the diamond using Versamark ink, altering the orientation for each row.
I heat embossed the diamonds using WOW! Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder for a stunning effect!
I painted in a little of the Walnut Stain Distress Paint into some of the centres. It does actually resemble an old gold, love that!!
I mounted my panel onto a Vintage Cream card base using Pinflair Glue Gel – but not before I’d added some strips of POW! Glitter Paper in Caramel (looks like an old gold too!) to give the appearance of a mat. And that’s all I needed to do to bring this beauty together – no need for a sentiment for this one!!
I am *so* in love with this little card and how it turned out – and I would love to know if you love it too!! I’m looking forward to hopefully setting some time aside to look at some of the other entries for the Hop too – after all, who can resist all shiny shiny?!
ETA: I’m also linking up to the latest CASology Cue Card Challenge which is dedicated to all things gold!
Thanks so much for stopping by – I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way!
