Birthday Candles

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!

If you’re looking for my Waltzingmouse Stamps Flower Show post then click here or scroll down! 🙂

Today I’m bringing you an all-PTI card. I know, shocker! It hasn’t happened in a really long time!!

I wanted to break out and play with Birthday Style and create a card that focused on the candles. I’d seen this awesome card on Pinterest and wanted to create my own version of it:

And here’s my version:

Disclaimer: I *never* CASE. Never ever. I personally feel ‘wrong’ doing it. But once in a blue moon inspiration is too awesome to ignore and I have to just go with it!

I changed up my version slightly by using a Rustic White card base instead of pure white. And I added one extra candle on the left to balance out my design. And the base is slightly longer too. But apart from that I’m pretty true to the original!

I used like a million inks on this card. I’ve listed them in the supplies below, but for your convenience here’s what I used for each candle. All inks are A:Muse unless stated.

Left-Right: Squash+Lido, Cherry+Burano, Ocean+Eucalyptus, Shell, Rialto, Squash+Lido, Pistachio+Sky, Orange+Burano, Bubblegum, Evergreen+PTI Pinefeather, Pumpkin, Shell, Cherry+Burano, Ocean+Eucalyptus, Squash+Lido, Orange+Burano, Pistachio+Sky, Rialto, Bubblegum

And for the wicks I used Versafine Onyx Black. Matching all the inks was fun, albeit time consuming. And you should see the state my craft room is in now, lol!

For the flames I decided the stamp in Birthday Style was too large, so I used the single raindrop from Scattered Showers instead, stamping with Pebble ink. I added the sentiment from Stylish Sentiments: Birthday using Versafine Onyx Black and that finished everything off!

Well, that’s it from me for today! I still have a ton of crafting to do and the hours are disappearing right before my eyes! I would love to know what you think of this little card before you head on your way. Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. I can so imagine the state of your craft room! A lot of love went into this card and you've done an incredible job of CASEing the original, Taheerah!

I think a true CASE is quite difficult because you sort of naturally want to put your own little something into the card. The way you did that here with the extra candle and using the raindrop (inspired!) are subtle and brilliant!

As long as you give credit, card makers consider it a compliment to be CASEd. I have a feeling that your version is going to be a fave and also CASEd a lot by other card artists!!

  2. Love this T! May have to case it 😉 Thanks for your order….I take it Debby's feather card gave you a little nudge – she's pesky like that (does it to me all the time!) LOL x
