Sweet Cakes… Lamp?

Hi everyone! How are you all today?

Today I’m bringing you a project I made for Gel-à-Tins a while ago featuring their Sweet Cakes set.

When I play with my sets I always try to think outside the box a little and use the stamps for something other than their original intention. Thus when using this set I ended up with a little brainwave and today’s card was born:

What do you think? Not your average cupcake huh?!

I started by stamping the cupcake liner onto Amy Tangerine patterned paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink and trimming it out.

I then used the Lighten Up stamp set to stamp the lamp base right onto the Stamper’s Select White card base using Smokey Shadow ink and partially onto the lamp ‘shade’. I then adhered the lampshade onto the base using Scor-Tape. I added a co-ordinating sentiment from Lighten Up and some shading with Copics to provide some light and that’s all there was to it!

I’d love to know what you think of this little card. Do you ever use your stamps in unusual ways – if so I’d love to hear about them! Thanks for stopping by – have a great day!!
