Clean & Simple Card Making 2 – Day 2 – One Layer Cards

Hey everyone! How are you all today? Hope you’re all well!

I’m really really enjoying the Clean & Simple Card Making 2 class I’m taking. Lots of fun and it’s great having homework every day! I actually loved homework in school too, guess I wasn’t the norm lol.

So Day 2’s homework was to create a one layer card. I’m down with that! *wink* Been enjoying experimenting with this style of card recently so I had my head in gear to create something for this straight away!

What do you think? I know, more splatter. I can’t help if I love it!!

I started with a Rustic White card base and splattered it with Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mists in Mint Green and Georgia Peach. I was inspired by this colour palette after seeing it a couple of times on Debby Hughes’ blog!

Next I stamped the ‘Hello’ banner from Neat & Tangled’s On The Strip set using A:Muse Slate ink. It didn’t stamp with full coverage (for some reason looked blotchy) so I used a small paintbrush to ‘paint’ the ink on to remove the blotchiness. 🙂

Next I die cut some hearts from Stamper’s Select White cardstock using the Simon Says Stamp Mini Hearts dies. Love these little dies! I sprayed them with the same colour mists, dried them with a heat tool then sprayed the backs with spray adhesive before adhering to the front. Technically I guess I can still get away with calling this ‘one layer’, though I do feel like it’s ‘cheating’ lol!

I really wanted to keep this card quite minimal, but I couldn’t resist adding the sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Talk Bubbles 2 set in Versafine Onyx Black ink then heat embossing with WOW! Clear Semi Dull embossing powder. Then I really was done!

I hope those of you taking this class are also having fun – I can’t recommend it enough!

Well, I’ll be back tomorrow to share something new. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow – it’s Pay Day at long last, lol! Thanks so much for stopping by, I’d love it if you left some love!

  1. OOh – they scare me – random splatters – I just can't do it!! Thank god for people like you – your randomness (ir is it???) is a talent!!!
    Love it!

  2. What a fun card – love your take on this! I tried a few cards for the workshop as well … don't know if I succeeded in making them CAS or not, but I gave it a go! 🙂
