It Takes A Long Time To Grow A True Friend

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday!

I got a new Mama Elephant order in the mail today and couldn’t wait to play! I created a simple one layer card featuring Tree Friends:

What do you think? Pretty huh?! Quite similar to my WaltzingMouse Stamps Flower Show card, but a bit more CAS and a lot easier to create!

I started with a Rustic White card base. I broke out another new lot of goodies – Distress Paint! I inked up the tree blossoms using dabs of Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet Distress Paints and stamped onto my base, then inked up the trunk and branches with Kraft ink and stamped again. Then to add more colour I inked up the underside of the tree with Spun Sugar and Picket Fence Distress Paint and stamped over the tree again! Love the effect!

To keep the card simple, I stamped a few leaves in Kraft ink and then used the underside of the stamp and Spun Sugar Distress Paint to add a little colour, and overstamped the sentiment using SU! Soft Suede ink.

Finally I added the ‘twine and bow’ treatment, one-layer card style, by using the images from the Birthday Style set, stamping with Kraft ink – and I was all done!

Well I’ve been struggling with mojo today and so haven’t created as much as I would have liked – but I do have an awesome little card ready to show you tomorrow! *wink* In the meantime I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  1. That tree from that stamp set ♥ Those details are just amazing! I love the soft pink and purple for the tree.. and the nice transition to the brown for the trunk!
