Hey everyone! Happy Friday!

I have two great loves in life. Well, actually I do have a few more than that, but today I’m combining two of the loves that have been with me longest – space, and cats.

We’ve had cats in my family from before I was born, and I come from a family of great cat lovers. So I was destined, you could say. I’ve never met a cat I didn’t love.

As for space, I was fascinated about everything to do with it from a very young age. As I grew up, that fascination turned into actual academic study, and though I work in IT now, my heart belongs to the stars.

So imagine my absolute delight when I was asked to guest for one of my old DT companies today to help celebrate their birthday – Newton’s Nook (more on that later!) – and they had some cat-space themed products this month!

In. Heaven.

I couldn’t wait to put those goodies to work!

Fun, right?! That Newton in his spacesuit got me immediately!

 

I stamped Newton and coloured him with Copics, then carefully fussy cut him out. I used Nuvo Crystal Drops to add some glazing to his helmet and panel buttons, and some Wink of Stella to his collar and oxygen tube!

The starry background was created with a new product line for Newton’s Nook – stencils! I used the Starfield Stencil with some white ink over my Distress Ink background. I masked a circle to create a planet and inked that with a stencil from another company. Totally digging that retro space look!

The sentiment was heat embossed in white and then inked over with a bit of an ombre look. Totally delighted with the finished card!
