The Ton Anniversary Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Happy Friday!

I’m really excited to be participating in a very special hop today!!

That’s right! The Ton is turning One today and are having a very special release hop to celebrate!! I was beyond thrilled when Effie asked if I would like to be a special guest, and of course I said yes immediately!! You all know how much I love The Ton and all their incredible and clever designs!!

So you should have made your way here from Mayline’s blog. If not just head back to The Ton’s blog to start from the beginning – or see the end of this post for the complete list of blogs!

I’ve two fun cards today created with stamp sets from the awesome new release!!

My first is a rainbow palette of delight, and a mix of all the stamped patterns from the new Tribal Chic Borders set

I masked a white border then watercoloured my panel with several of the new inks from The Ton: Grand Fuchsia, Red Sangria, Coralline, Beach Blondie, Bright Emerald, Parisian Blue, and Iris Blooms. Aren’t they gorgeous?!

I stamped my patterns using Versafine Onyx Black ink. I was going for an incomplete/imperfect look, so it’s handy that my inkpad is starting to run dry, lol! The stamps stamp beautifully though!

I stamped the sentiment from the Friggin Fabulous set to finish it off.

Onto my next card, which I am totally in love with! It features the awesome new Friend Defined set!

See what I mean? Love!

I started by inking up the beyond-awesome Rose Terrace Cling Background stamp with several of the awesome Ton inks – Soft Garnet, Vanilla Frosted Cupcake, Rose Quartz, and Lofty Mint. I just inked up straight onto the stamp using the corners of my inkpads to direct the colour, but you could use an ink dauber if you wanted to be more precise. I spritzed the stamp with water then stamped my panel with it. Gorgeous results. 🙂 The final colours were a little deeper than I wanted for the effect, so I dabbed the Hampton White ink over it to tone the colours down a bit. 🙂

Then came the fun part – making up my friend definition! There are 10 numbers and several different definition sentences to use, so I picked the ones I wanted and the order they would appear, and also the ‘friend’ stamp, and lined them all up on my MISTI.

Once I was happy with my positioning I stamped my panel, and was then able to stamp a second time to get a deeper black with perfect positioning! Love my MISTI! 🙂 In fact, I love this card and the definitions and everything so much that I’ve left all the stamps on my MISTI in position, and plan to mass produce a whole bunch of cards like this to send to crafty friends! 🙂

Other great ‘finds’ (ie things I should have realised a long time ago): my glass desk is essentially a really giant acrylic block, which I can use to adhere 6×6 background stamps to securely to ink up and stamp repeatedly. 🙂

Giveaway!!

  1. Love that fantastic watercolored background, Taheerah, on your first card and the multicolored roses on your second – wow!!! So cool about your desk as a massive acrylic block! 🙂

  2. Two great cards! I love the tribal pattern on the rainbow of colors. The card works so well because of the wide white border. The second has the lovely was of roses so I love that card as well.

  3. What gorgeous cards. Love the colors and the washed out stamping of the tribal borders in the first card, and love the soft colors you used to create a opaque-like background for the friend definitions! Amazing!

  4. Beautiful cards! Love them all, especially the friends card. That stamp set is a must have. I have no Misti yet but after looking at your gorgeous cards, its at the top of my wish list.

  5. Taheerah, so wonderful to see your post pop up in my Feedly (as was seeing the photo with you and Amy T at CHA! Crafting friends connecting in real life makes my heart sing) and WOW, two dazzling delights! Your Tribal Borders card is tres chic; gorgeous colours, fabulous sponging, wonderful sentiment! Eye-catching! Your friendship card: oh my. Breath-taking. *Beyond awesome* is right! The roses,in the soft colours you've selected, are *the* perfect canvas for the touching friend definitions! People receiving your cards will feel incredibly special! WOW! I need to save up for shopping at The Ton (our Cdn. dollar = ouch!); the stamps you've used are 100000% on my wish list!
    Hugs~c
