Happy Birthday to Me, CHA, and a GIVEAWAY!!

Hey everyone! Happy Friday! It’s a special Friday for me because it’s also my birthday!! Happy Birthday to me!! 🙂

As is usual on my birthday I have created a birthday card for myself, to share with all of you. 🙂

Totally loving how this turned out! I ran a little fun poll on FB asking my friends whether I should use doughnuts of cake. It was a pretty close vote, but doughtnuts were in the lead when I sat down to create. Plus it’s my birthday so I can have any card I want. 😛

I used the WMS Dinky Doughnuts set for my doughnuts, stamping the dough part with a mix of Mama Elephant ink in Hazel (stamped off once) and Palette Haystack ink. The icings were stamped with SU! inks in Soft Suede (stamped twice), Blushing Bride and GinaK ink in Ivory.

I watercoloured my base with Versamagic ink in Aquatic Splash, then splattered on some mists when the base was dry. I zapped it with my heat tool to speed that up as I hate to wait!

I stamped my sentiment from Concord and 9th’s Eat Cake & Celebrate set, stamping it three times to get that deep colour (God I love my MISTI!). Only when all my stamping was finished and I had adhered my panel to my base did I break out the Glossy Accents and give a thick coating of it to each of the doughnuts. And then I left it overnight like a good girl for it to dry without spoiling it. 🙂

Totally worth all that patience though – look at that dimension and shine!! And it looks so yummy too. I totally want doughnuts now.

So, this birthday is pretty awesome. Not only do I have doughnuts on a card, but I’m also lucky enough to be attending the CHA Trade Show in LA this year!! I’m working at the Pinkfresh Studio booth and so excited to experience the awesome event and to meet and hug a ton of crafty friends!! I’ll definitely be sharing a post in future with loads of photos of the hot products that capture my heart!!

Giveaway!!

So, my post title promised a giveaway, right? 🙂 Just hit me up with a sweet comment (the sweeter the better!) and I’ll pick one winner who’ll receive a $25 gift certificate to a crafty company/online store of their choice! I’ll give you until 7am EST on January 15th to leave a comment, so be sure to share with your friends too! And if you become a follower via a feed reader, FB, Twitter, Pinterest, e-mail or YouTube (links at the top right of my blog – except YouTube which is here) then you can leave an additional comment for each of those methods of subscription to improve your chances! Good luck!!

Okay, I’m off to party and celebrate! Catch you all later and thanks for stopping by!!
