So it’s time for the Neat & Tangled March Release! You will go absolutely crazy for the awesomeness we’re bringing you for this month!! Definitely something for everyone, with some super-versatile sets!!
Today I’m helping to introduce a new set called My Favorite. This is an adorable little set featuring a some more of that awesome hand-lettering style that made Hope Anchors so popular!! I really love this one so so much!!
I wanted to capture a soft, dreamy watercolour-like look, where you ‘feel’ more than you ‘see’. Here’s what I came up with:
I’ll let you decide if I accomplished that or not, but I really love how it turned out!
I started by heat embossing that gorgeous sentiment onto a Pure White card base, stamping with Versamark ink and heat embossing with WOW! Clear Semi Dull embossing powder. I then watercoloured using Distress Inks in Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick, intensifying the colour around the edges of the letters so they would stand out more. When dry I ironed the card between some sheets of paper to remove the embossing powder and stamped some hearts using the stamp from the Just Thinking of You set, stamping with GinaK White Pigment ink.
I went over the card again with a wash of Simon Says Stamp ink in Sea Glass, also adding some touches of gold created from Heidi Swapp Colour Shine Mist in Gold Lame. I added some flecks of colour and repeated my trick of heat embossing some of the hearts, watercolouring around them then ironing off the embossing powder. I think the more I look at the finished result the more I like it!!

WOW!! Such a BEAUTIFUL Card!! =) I'm sure that in real life it is even more BEAUTIFUL too!! Just a suggestion though (and you can take it or ignore it either way I'm sharing this as a FAN not a HATER!!) I LOVE your NEAT Photo Technique especially for certain cards, but I think when you have a more Simple and Soft Card your Background kinda takes away from your card alittle and out shines it if that makes sense!!?? Now maybe its just me and I'm totally WRONG!!?? But I think if you were to shot this card again with a more plain background it would REALLY SHINE even more that it already does!! LOVE it though!! You know what? I didn't even think of that! I am usually just on 'photo auto pilot' when I take my photos, ha! It's a good point and hopefully one I'll remember to try in future! Thanks for the suggestion!
