Houndstooth Happy Birthday

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday!

As I mentioned yesterday, my PTI order arrived, and there was one set in particular that I couldn’t wait to tear into and use – Autumn Pattern Pieces! I fell completely head-over-heels for the large-scale pattern elements, and there were such awesome images too!

I really wanted to ink up the image I had been anticipating the most – the houndstooth element. Here’s what I came up with:

What do you think? Funky huh?! I love how this turned out!!

I started with a Rustic White card base and stamped the houndstooth element using Memento Luxe ink in Peanut Brittle (love that name – and that colour!). Once I’d covered my card base I then added some other rows using Memento Luxe ink in Espresso Truffle. Deciding I wanted a bit more contrast, I left one main row blank, and then overstamped two of the Peanut Brittle rows using SU! ink in Pumpkin Pie. To finish off the fabric look, I impressed the card front using the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate.

Next, those letters!! I had spotted the Lifestyle Crafts Blue Sky Alphabet dies on Crafty Seals for an incredible price ($19.99 instead of the RRP of $99.99!!!), so I just had to get them! *Love* that mod font!! I die cut the letters and number from Rustic White cardstock then adhered them to my base using Pinflair Glue Gel. And that’s all this card needs really – letting the bold pattern and letters do all the talking here!

Well, I’m pretty sad that the weekend’s over already, and I didn’t do any of that Christmas card designing that I was meant to! That is gonna start catching up with me soon I bet! In the meantime I have a busy week ahead with StampSpotlight starting on Tuesday already! I’ll be back tomorrow with a sneak peek of October’s set, as well as a normal card post at some point too! In the meantime I would love it if you left some love before you went on your way! Thanks so much for stopping by!
