Mama Elephant Colour Challenge #1

Hey everyone! Happy Sunday!

I’m finally back with something new, lol! I’ve been busy whipping up some last-minute entries for the Mama Elephant Colour Challenge:

Our challenge is to use red, aqua, white and glitter, how fun!

So, the red looked more like a Berry Sorbet red to me, so off I went to create these three cards. First up, one created with the On Target set:

Fun huh?! These sets marry perfectly with a CAS style!

I was dreaming up ideas this morning when I was waking up and I immediately thought of a James Bond-style sniper scope aiming for a heart, lol! I stamped the target with Aqua Mist ink, then used the large arrow to add the cross-hairs  masking off the arrow head and feathers to just use the body. Then I added the Berry Sorbet hearts.

To incorporate the glitter, I trimmed a channel in the card panel to expose a strip of American Crafts POW! glitter sheet which I had adhered to the base with Scor Tape. This stuff is amazing – I’ve got to get more!! I adhered the top panel off the base, using Pinflair Glue Gel to get that lovely dimension!

Next up, a card featuring On Target and Midnight Letters:

I love this!

Another CAS design, I stamped the stars from both sets onto the card base, then added the sentiment.

I stamped one star in Berry Sorbet ink, trimmed out, sprayed with spray adhesive then coated in Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter. The star is then adhered off the base using Pinflair Glue Gel.

One final one! This time a card featuring On Target, Midnight Letters and No Peeking!

I think this one might be my favourite! Has a bit of a Studio Calico feel to it!

I stamped the various arrows and chevrons from On Target using Aqua Mist and Berry Sorbet inks. I then stamped the ‘Love’ circle, and added part of the sentiment from No Peeking to give the ‘You’, before trimming out and adhering off the base using Pinflair.

I then stamped the stars using the Essential Glue Pad and sprinkled with Martha Stewart Antique Silver glitter for that perfect pop!

Well that’s it for me! I hope you love these cards as much as I do! If you do then I’d love it if you left some love in the form of a comment. Thanks so much for stopping by!!

  1. I can't pick a favorite, because both of these cards are AMAZING!! Love the idea of the first one, so very creative! And the glitter strip peeking from behind, looks awesome! As for the second card, it is so sweet! You did a great job stamping the star, an I love how you highlighted that one little red star!

  2. GET OUT! These are AMAZING!!!! I love that first one–the target finally hits the heart at the end–CLEVER x10000! That second one is so precious with all those stars! And that third one–wow! You really nailed this challenge! THANKS for joining along with the ME team!!!

ps…I need to get those inks you've used–they matched perfectly! <3

  3. What a beautiful set of cards!! I really appreciate someone who knows how to work their whites. 🙂 Thanks for playing along with ME!! 🙂
