Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge #21

Hi everyone!
Firstly I just wanted to thank everyone for their lovely, heartfelt birthday wishes on my last post. I treasure every one of your comments, and especially on that day, each comment felt like a present in itself. Thank you so much!
Right, onto the matter at hand! I can’t believe we’re already on Colour Challenge #21 but here we are! I’m really grateful for this challenge in particular as I’ve been staring at Aqua Mist the last few times I’ve made cards and wishing for some inspiration for how to use it. This colour combo was just what I needed!
So, here are the colours for the challenge this time:
Great combo Dawn! Really fresh and fun!
I came up with the design for my card while I was enjoying my Sunday morning lie-in! Doesn’t usually happen that I plan a card in my head before I get started, lol, but this time I did and I think it paid off! Here is my entry:
I’m really pleased with how this one turned out! Okay, plenty of inspiration from Ms McVey again of course, but I feel I’m now starting to put my own slant on it and put things together myself without thinking too much about what she does! So that’s progress right?!!
I started with an Aqua Mist card base. The main layer is a piece of Rustic Cream cardstock, with the top corners rounded. I used my favourite Martha Stewart punch (of course!) to add a punched border along the bottom.
I added the largest image from Turning a New Leaf, stamping it in Dark Chocolate. I then stamped the trio of flowers from Blooming Button Bits onto a separate piece of cardstock using Aqua Mist. I cut each one out and added different sized Lemon Tart buttons, adhered with Pinflair Glue Gel. I then used the stamp as a guide to position the blooms as close to the original stamp layout as possible and adhered at different heights with more Pinflair.
Finally, I couldn’t complete this card without tying another bow or knot! I opted for a knot this time as I didn’t want the end result to be too fussy. Loving Dawn even more than ever since she posted her tutorial!! Finally I stamped the sentiment from Blooming Button Bits using Dark Chocolate ink and adhered the cream panel to the base with more Pinflair. Love that sentiment, Nichole Heady is a genius!
So there you have it! I’ve shyed away from recent challenges because I took it really hard the last time when I didn’t get selected. But following on from my Crafter’s Resolutions I’m not going to let that bother me anymore and I’m going to keep trying! Who knows, maybe this time will be my lucky day!! Anyway, I’d love to know what you think of this card, your comments make my day!!
